🏞️ Days 1 & 2 – Island Hills Station | Hurunui
Day One – Arrival into the High Country
Your adventure begins with a scenic journey into Island Hills Station, one of the Hurunui’s most striking high-country landscapes. Rolling hills to mountain ranges, wide valleys, rivers and expansive tussock country create a powerful sense of space and remoteness from the moment you arrive.
Enjoy a hosted morning tea in scenic terrain before setting out on a guided exploration of the station. Learn about high-country farming, land stewardship, and the history that has shaped this remarkable landscape. Experience elevated viewpoints that provide outstanding opportunities for photography and quiet appreciation, and valleys that offer the thrill of rocky river crossings.
A freshly prepared lunch is provided before the afternoon continues, with further exploration into valleys and ridgelines.
By late afternoon, settle into your chosen overnight experience:
-
Fully Catered Farm Accommodation – Comfortable lodging with dinner provided
-
Fully Catered Camping – Island Hills remote site with dinner provided
As night falls, enjoy clear skies and exceptional stargazing, a hallmark of the high country.
Day Two – Deep Exploration & Morning Light

The day focuses on deeper exploration, reaching areas not accessed on Day One. Your guide will share further insight into station life, the terrain, and seasonal changes that shape the land. We’ll stop for a catered morning tea and a well-earned lunch on elevated heights.
After a final Island Hills experience, you will begin the journey south toward your next destination.
Accommodation for day two is set alongside the beautiful Ashley River amidst native bush and wildlife. Dinner is provided in a historic town setting.
🐝 Days 3 & 4 – Springbank Honey & Glenburn Station

From here, travel into the high country at Glenburn Station, twisting roads open into a broad valley of farmland, ridgelines, and wide-open vistas.
A catered lunch is enjoyed on arrival before guided exploration of the station begins.
The afternoon offers varied terrain which includes elevated viewpoints, bush, swamps and rivers. As the day winds down, we head off to settle into overnight accommodation options:
