
Defensive back coach Corey Small is a native of Naples FL. He continues to perfect his game as a defensive back coach as well as player. He played football for Coach Frank Tudryn at Gulf Coast High School, after playing one year of high school football he received a full scholarship to Florida Atlantic University. During his collegiate career at FAU he became a 3 year starter for the legendary coach Howard Schnellenberger where he broke many individual as well as school records. Going into his senior year of 2008 he was nominated for the Jim Thorpe award which is awarded to the countries best defensive back. In February of 2009 He played in the Texas vs. the Nation game in El Paso Texas and fractured his fibula hurting his chances of getting drafted. However, he is still training to play at the next level. The game of football is his true passion and he feels that it is essential for DB’s to become great technicians. By using football knowledge and game experience to create strenuous DB and ball drills that correlate to actual game situations, he intends to help players develop their game and exploit their potential.
